The Tunney Song Tradition Trust has undertaken a range of projects dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and sharing the songs, stories, and cultural inheritance associated with the Tunney family tradition. Through archival work, recordings, events, and collaborations, the Trust continues to honour the singers and communities who carried this tradition forward, while creating opportunities for new audiences and future generations to engage with it.

Where the Linnets Sing (2026):

The Tunney Song Tradition Trust is proud to present Where the Linnets Sing 2026, a renewed and expanded edition of the landmark 1993 collection, bringing together 42 tracks and 19 singers from five generations of the extended Tunney family. Welcome to this living archive of family song, in which the birth of the earliest featured singer, Annie Meehan, is separated from the present day by 150 years.

Relaunching Where Songs Do Thunder (2026): New Edition Launched

In 2026, the Tunney Song Tradition Trust will publish a new edition of Paddy Tunney’s Where Songs Do Thunder: Travels in Traditional Song, bringing one of his most vivid and wide-ranging works back into circulation for a new generation of singers, readers and folk enthusiasts.

Paddy in London is an electronic LP released by the Tunney Song Tradition Trust in 2025. It features recordings made by Paddy Tunney during a tour of English folk clubs in the early summer of 1965.
